At the end of last week, took place the long-awaited event Tattoo United 5, during which the brave and purposeful 23-year-old tattoo artist from Vologda (Russia) Sasha Kot set a new Guinness international record of the duration of a tattoo session with several models, having worked for 60 hours 30 minutes!
Remind that the previous record belongs to the Polish tattoo artist Krzysztof Barnas, who worked in the same mode for 56 hours 30 minutes.
A little more than two and a half days, Sasha made tattoos. Under the terms of the Guinness Book of Records, he had the opportunity to interrupt for only 5 minutes after each full hour of work, however, in this time also included the preparation of a workplace for the next client, so Sasha did not have time to rest.
During 60.5 hours, Sasha was under the scrutiny of witnesses and two video cameras recording every second of the attempt.
In total, about 60 people were involved in this event! 8 people from the team of Sasha Kota, which included cameramen and assistants, employees of iNKPPL and the organizers of the convention, 30 witnesses: 18 tattoo artists and 12 people not related to the tattoo industry. During the session, 15 tattoos were made on 12 models.
Preparation for an attempt to establish a record was carried out for 7 months. Sasha underwent a complete medical inspection to exclude any risk factors associated with health, because working without sleep lasting 60.5 hours is a huge stress for the whole organism. To improve health and increase overall stamina, he was compiled a special nutrition program, including a vitamin complex. Two test sessions of 24 and 48 hours were held at the Kolnya studio, which made it possible to prepare the organism for a decisive load.
his event has truly gained an international scale, cause this is the first record in the history of Russian tattooing. In addition to the fact of setting a record, this action became an act of charity, because all the funds raised will go to the Konstantin Khabensky Charity Fund to help sick children.
The funny fact is that after completing the attempt at 60.5 hours, Sasha, contrary to all expectations, did not go to sleep, but instead went to the hall of the tattoo convention and talked with people until the closing of the event. As a result, he spent almost 72 hours without sleep!! Surprisingly, even at the end of the evening, Sasha remained awake and took pictures with pleasure and received congratulations from the organizers and visitors of the convention, among whom were: Lou Rubino - founder and owner of World Famous Tattoo Ink, Radek Rachwall - founder and owner of KWADRON and many others who came to support Sasha these days.
From the entire editorial of the iNKPPL Tattoo Magazine, we congratulate Sasha on setting a new world record. This is a true manifestation of the true strength of mind and unlimited will to win!
