German artist Susanne Suflanda König has a really light and kind tattoo style. Sketches of her work could easily become illustrations to children's books or thoughtful traveler's diaries. She draws inspiration from almost everywhere: from people, events, surroundings and transform our reality into a world there lives variety of animals, with characters, in which we can easily recognize ourselves.
Susanne said, that in creation of her illustrations she uses only pencils, light lines and dots. This is the reasons for her choice of the black and grey color palette for tattoos.
I enjoy tattooing any kind of animals. When I illustrate them I like to imagine myself inside their world: I wonder about whether we would be friends, or what they were doing just before or after the still I chose for my picture, and what kinds of emotions they might be feeling. But I also like other subjects: mermaids, ladies’ heads, or tattoos with a traditional origin…
Starting her career 9 years ago, Susanne went a long way in learning of the tattoo art, accompanied by numerous moves and new acquaintances. She worked in Germany, Amsterdam and now in the UK.
