WHAT IS A TATTOO CONVENTION?
The Ottawa-Gatineau Tattoo Expo will take place November 11 , 12 ,13 , 2022 at the Hilton"Casino" Lac Leamy. If you don't know the event yet or are wondering what a convention is, we'll explain!
TATTOO CONVENTIONS: HISTORY Throughout the year, throughout Canada and around the world, tattoo conventions punctuate Tattoo culture. Organized by professionals or enthusiasts, it is an opportunity to find tattoo artists from all walks of life in the same place. Conventions also make it possible to break down prejudices about the art of tattooing by making it known to as many people as possible. This phenomenon is not entirely recent since the first tattoo convention took place in 1976 in Houston (USA). 3 years later, the first national tattoo convention will take place in Denver and will count among its guests a certain Don Ed Hardy!
A TATTOO CONVENTION: WHAT IS IT FOR?
A tattoo convention is like a trade show or trade show. Through the aisles made up of kiosks, you can consult the books, the prints, the flashes* of the artists, talk about your project live with the tattoo artists, and get a tattoo if you wish. A tattoo convention is the opportunity to meet as many tattoo artists as possible in a minimum of time. Coming from everywhere, you can make an appointment with renowned tattoo artists! A unique opportunity to meet artists from elsewhere. The artists present at the Ottawa-Gatineau Tattoo Expo are selected by R&R Production (Rick & Rachel Levesque) , organizer of the Ottawa-Gatineau Tattoo Expo for the last 13 years . Among the 300 plus tattoo artists present at the Expo this year, all styles are represented (graphic, neo-trad, Japanese…etc).
HOW TO GET A TATTOO AT A TATTOO CONVENTION
If you already have a Tattoo project, don’t hesitate to contact(on our website) the artist you are currently interested in to arrange an appointment with him during the event. If you don’t have a specific idea, the tattoos also offer “flashes”. Unique drawings ready to be tattooed without an appointment. More attention first arrival = first service! A tattoo convention is an event open to all. Passionate, novice, curious, families, children… The Ottawa-Gatineau Tattoo Expo offers in addition to the presence of more than 300 tattoo artists, a number of animations: exhibitors, live music, body suspension, freak shows, tattoo competitions Check out the programming of this 13th edition.
