João 'BatesGen' Santos

Hi! My name is João Santos AKA Batesgen. I’m a freelancer visual artist and resident tattoo artist at Bline Tattoo in Loulé, Portugal. I specialise in blackwork / full color mixed style, high contrast illustrative and graphic tattoos. I have a large collection of flash designs that you can check if you come to the shop. About my background: I've always been very connected to arts, having degrees in Visual Arts and Fine Arts, and a Master of Arts degree in Multimedia Art. Over the last decade I've worked exclusively as a freelancer, having dealt with hundreds of different clients, from small companies to large brands. I loved the experience and I still do, however I've decided to commit most of my time to tattooing now. The reason? I'm having a lot more fun doing it, and I'm all about having fun, while being no less than 100% professional with my work.
