HONOLULU, Hawai‘i – August 22, 2025 – Banyan Tree Tattoo, the brainchild of Lahaina artist and resident Jonny Julian, has launched its newest studio at Ala Moana Center, expanding its reach to O‘ahu. This milestone follows the successful opening of the Whalers Village location in Kā‘anapali earlier this year, a significant comeback after the original Blue Hawaii Tattoo studio was lost in the devastating Lahaina wildfires of August 2023.

To celebrate the grand opening, the new Ala Moana location is offering 50% off all tattoos through the end of August.

The Ala Moana studio invites both locals and visitors to experience custom tattoo designs, walk-in availability, and a space built around creativity and connection. The expansion marks a new chapter for Julian and his team, who continue to rebuild and grow while honoring the community that shaped them.

“When our Lahaina shop was destroyed, many of our artists lost not just their workplace, but their homes,” said Jonny Julian. “Opening in Whalers Village gave us the chance to come together again, and this new space at Ala Moana opens even more doors. It’s about resilience, supporting local talent, and sharing the spirit of Lahaina through our art.”

The Ala Moana studio features a diverse team of resident tattoo artists, international guest artists, and a variety of styles — from intricate fine line work and realism to bold Polynesian-inspired pieces. True to Julian’s vision, the studio combines top-tier tattoo artistry with a laid-back, inclusive atmosphere.

Located on Mall Level 2 near Macy’s, the studio is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Appointments are available online, and walk-ins are always welcome. Visit banyantreetattoo.com or call (808) 788-6111 for more information.

About Banyan Tree Tattoo

Founded by tattoo artist Jonny Julian, Banyan Tree Tattoo began as Blue Hawaii Tattoo in 2014 in Lahaina, Maui. After the tragic loss of the original studio during the wildfires of 2023, Julian and fellow displaced artists regrouped to form Banyan Tree Tattoo — a new name symbolizing strength, renewal, and unity.

In February 2024, the brand made a strong return with its Whalers Village location in Kā‘anapali. Now, with a second studio at Ala Moana Center, Banyan Tree Tattoo continues to thrive, bringing high-quality tattoo experiences to new communities while staying true to its roots.

Today, Banyan Tree Tattoo stands as a symbol of Hawai‘i’s enduring spirit — combining artistic excellence, storytelling, and aloha to create meaningful tattoos that last a lifetime
