Russell Van Schaick is a tattoo artist from Florida (USA), who combines watercolor and sketch techniques in his works.
Inspired by works of the famous Italian artist Agnes Cecile, Russell began to study watercolor technique. Before starting tattooing in this technique, he studied how paint dissolves on paper, leaving light, airy stains. He had a lot of practice to achieve the same effect with tattoo pigments. Only after that, he began painting on the skin.
Also, Russell adds thin sketch lines to his watercolor tattoos, which makes them more distinct and brings the author's recognizable style.
The tattoo artist, on his personal website writes: "As an artist I feel I have developed a pretty cool abstract watercolor tattoo technique that I really enjoy doing."
