High ambition is one of the hallmarks of real masters! Today, we want to tell you about a tattoo artist who has not only achieved recognition in his native country, but is also ready to declare himself to the whole world of tattoos.
Sasha Kot was born and raised in the small provincial town - Vytegra, Vologda Region of Russia. From early childhood, fascinated by drawing, he dreamed a lot about a artistic career and set to himself really lofty goals. While studying at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Vologda, at the age of 16, he began to study tattooing, making tattoos to his fellow students in a dormitory.
The next stage in Sasha’s development as a master was moving to a rented apartment, in which his friend Oleg Zhuk already lived, who at that time engaged in tattooing for 3-4 years. He became in some way the teacher of Sasha, who helped him improve his skills.
After the graduate, Sasha rented an office for a studio, the scale of which he expanded year by year. In 2017, he founded the studio «Kolnya» in Vologda, which now has 4 resident artists: the founder - Sasha Kot (graphic tattoo), Ekaterina Maksimova (watercolor tattoo), Kirill Pakedin (traditional tattoo), Elizaveta Petrova (minimalistic tattoo), as well as several students, under Sasha's guidance.
The place with a total area of 170 square meters in the Loft style is a comfortable creative space with isolated cabinets for artists, a cozy reception desk and a relaxation area for customers in which you can drink coffee or tea, play video games, chat and just relax during long tattoo sessions.
In 2019, Sasha decided to declare himself to the whole world, setting a new Guinness world record of the duration of a tattoo session. Currently, the record belongs to the Polish master Krzysztof Barnas, who conducted a tattoo session lasting 56 hours and 30 minutes. Throughout the process, he was given only 5-minute breaks after each hour of work. During this time, Krzysztof made 11 tattoos.
In an effort to break this record and write his name in the history of modern tattoos, Sasha Kot plans to arrange a session for 70 hours!!
