Originally from Murcia, Spain, Luis began his tattoo journey under the mentorship of the legendary Joaquín Ganga (Gangatattoo), who opened the doors to the professional world for him. Luis took his first steps as a tattoo artist in Ganga's studio in Spain. Later, his childhood dream — to live and work in the United States — came true when he moved to Los Angeles and joined the GangaTattooLA team.

“Since I was a child, I dreamed of living in the United States. Moving to Los Angeles was a dream come true, both personally and professionally. It has offered me the chance to grow and work in one of the most influential tattoo environments in the world.” he shares.

Luis is best known for his specialization in black and gray pet portraits. Why this style? The answer is simple: monochromatic tones allow him to capture the finest nuances — from glimmers in the eyes to the softness of fur.

“I’ve always been drawn to animal portraits — I find that creating fur using fine-line techniques is what I do best and enjoy the most.”

Each tattoo by Luis is more than just an image — it’s a living memory. Especially moving are the portraits of pets who have passed away.

“Many clients become emotional, especially those who have recently lost their pets. Seeing the finished portrait often brings tears to their eyes — it’s a deeply meaningful moment, and it makes me incredibly happy to provide something so special,” he confesses.

At the heart of Luis’s technique is fine-line work. It allows for the highest level of detail and sharpness. Without it, he says, the tattoo could blur during the healing process and lose the definition that sets his work apart.

Through my art, I aim to deliver the highest quality possible and ensure my clients are left with a lasting memory of their beloved pets, one they can carry with them forever.

Preparation is a crucial step. Sometimes clients bring old or blurry photos. In such cases, Luis works with multiple references to create a clean and accurate final image.

“If the client requests a personalized design with abstract or geometric elements, I take time to develop a creative and original concept.” explains Luis.

Among Luis's clients are major celebrities: Offset, Stephon Diggs, Nick Kyrgios, Tyga, Ozuna, Arcángel, and Lonzo Ball. They’re drawn not only to the high quality of his work, but also to the studio’s unique service: the “No Pain” tattoo under anesthesia. This option is especially convenient for busy clients — instead of multiple appointments, they complete complex tattoos in a single eight-hour session.

“It’s a solution that reflects both our innovation and commitment to client comfort and convenience.” emphasizes Luis.

Today, Luis takes part in international tattoo conventions as a judge. He has appeared at Villain Arts events in San Diego, Orlando, Houston, and Long Beach. Judging allows him to remain part of the community and share his expertise without the pressure of competing.

What’s next? He continues to refine his technique and envisions a future in teaching:

“My goal is to continue doing what I love — creating highly detailed animal portraits. I’m committed to evolving my technique and possibly sharing my experience in the future through teaching or mentoring other artists.”
