Tattoo artist Aleki Blue (Artem Alekhin), known for combining microrealism and geometric elements with narrative storytelling, has unveiled a new collaboration with one of the most recognizable figures in flatland BMX — Terry Adams.
Adams is a multiple NORA Cup winner and has been a Red Bull athlete for more than 23 years, widely respected not only for his achievements in BMX but also for his dedication, discipline, and positive influence within the action sports community.
For this deeply personal project, Aleki Blue translated key moments of Terry Adams’ life and career into a single cohesive tattoo composition. The piece brings together symbols that reflect both his professional achievements and his personal journey.
Among the elements incorporated into the tattoo is Terry’s signature “Katrina” trick emerging through the clouds, representing his BMX legacy and defining moments in competition. Other details reference the mindset behind his success — including his daily meditation practice and habit of waking up at 3:30 a.m., symbols of discipline and long-term dedication.
The design also includes the Tree of Life in Bahrain, a powerful symbol of growth and endurance that reflects Terry’s philosophy toward life and sport.
Family plays a central role in the composition. A constellation representing his son Ledge appears within the piece, alongside references to his wife Vanessa and the castle in Louisiana where they were married — elements that highlight the personal foundations behind his career.
To document the project, a professional short film was produced by Blu Dot Productions, offering an inside look at the collaboration between the artist and the athlete. The film explores Terry’s story, the symbolism behind the tattoo, and the creative process behind the artwork.
As Terry Adams notes in the film, each time he looks at the tattoo he discovers new details within the composition — a reflection of how deeply the piece captures different stages of his life and career.
This collaboration demonstrates how tattooing can intersect with professional sports, creating a powerful form of visual storytelling that pushes the boundaries of both industries.
